The Apex AX03 Bodyboard is the perfect upgrade for riders ready to progress from beginner turns into faster lines, cleaner manoeuvres, and more powerful wave riding. Designed for intermediate to advanced bodyboarders, the AX03 delivers the ideal balance of speed, control, projection and durability, making it a standout choice for UK surf conditions and beyond. Whether you ride prone or drop knee (DK), this versatile performance bodyboard is built to help you push your surfing to the next level.

Engineered by some of the world’s leading board manufacturers, Apex Bodyboards combine proven shaping technology with high-quality materials to create reliable boards for every level of rider — from weekend surfers to dedicated wave chargers. The AX03 has become a popular choice for surfers searching for a durable bodyboard with excellent flex, responsive handling, and all-round wave performance.

Constructed with a buoyant and durable PE High Compression Core, the AX03 features mesh reinforcement and a stringer system for added stiffness, projection and control in larger or more powerful surf. The HDPE slick bottom combined with graduated channels increases down-the-line speed while maintaining grip and drive through turns. Its classic 50/50 rails provide excellent hold and responsiveness, while the crescent tail delivers added bite, control and release for carving manoeuvres and boosting airs.

The premium construction creates a true, responsive flex pattern that helps maintain speed, improve consistency and maximise progression in a wide variety of surf conditions. From beach breaks to reef waves, the Apex AX03 is built to handle up to 95% of the waves most riders will encounter around the UK coastline and overseas surf trips alike.

Ideal for surfers looking for a performance bodyboard, intermediate bodyboard, advanced bodyboard, or a reliable all-round bodyboard for UK waves, the Apex AX03 offers outstanding value and performance in one package. Complete with a fitted leash plug and web wrist leash, this board is ready to hit the water straight away.

Who are Alder?

Founded in the heart of the UK’s surfing scene, Alder has become one of Britain’s most respected and longest-standing surf brands. Established over 50 years ago by passionate surfer Bob Westlake, Alder was born from a simple idea — to create high-quality surfing products designed specifically for the cold and demanding waters of the British coastline.

During the 1960s, surfing in the UK was still in its infancy, and authentic surf apparel was difficult to find. Recognising this gap in the market, Bob Westlake and his wife Annie began producing some of the very first surf clothing and boardshorts in Britain from their family farm in Devon. Their passion for surfing and commitment to craftsmanship laid the foundations for what would eventually become Alder Sportswear.

Over the decades, Alder has evolved into a trusted name within UK surf culture, developing an extensive range of wetsuits, bodyboards, surf accessories, neoprene products, and surf school equipment. Known for combining performance, durability, comfort, and affordability, Alder products are designed by surfers who understand the unique challenges of British and European waters.

Alder’s heritage is deeply connected to grassroots surfing, supporting surf schools, local riders, and generations of surfers learning their craft along the UK coastline. The brand has also worked with respected surfers and competitors throughout its history, helping cement its reputation within the surfing community.

Today, Alder continues to innovate with modern wetsuit technologies, eco-conscious materials, and performance-driven designs while remaining true to its original mission — creating reliable surf equipment that makes surfing accessible to everyone. With roots firmly planted in Devon and a heritage built on authentic British surfing culture, Alder remains a favourite among beginner and experienced surfers alike.
