Discover the Ride: Introducing the Hamboards Brand
Hamboard is a unique and exciting brand born from the Southern California surf culture. Created by a family of surfers, Hamboards brings the feeling of surfing to the streets. Their boards are larger than typical skateboards and designed for carving and cruising. This makes Hamboard perfect for surfers looking to practice on land.
The brand began when Pete Hamborg, a Huntington Beach lifeguard and father of five, started building boards for his sons. His goal was to help them surf even when the waves were flat. With the help of his family, Pete crafted long, surf-style skateboards in their garage. These handmade boards soon caught the attention of locals.
What makes a Hamboard different is their focus on the surfing experience. Each board is built to mimic the sensation of riding a wave. The design includes large decks, custom trucks, and big wheels. This allows for smooth, flowing turns that feel like carving on water. Riders often say it feels like real surfing—without getting wet.
Hamboards’ product lineup includes several models, each with its own ride style. The Classic is the largest model and closest to a longboard surfboard. It’s ideal for big, sweeping turns and cruising along beach paths. The Logger is slightly smaller and great for nose riding or cross-stepping. Both boards give a smooth and relaxed feel.
The Fish model offers a shorter and snappier ride. It’s designed for quick turns and tighter carving. The Pescadito is similar but even more compact. These models are perfect for those who want a more playful feel. The HST trucks (Hamboard Surf Trucks) used on all models are a big part of the magic. They allow the board to lean and turn deeply, just like a surfboard.
For riders who enjoy pumping and speed, the Huntington Hop model offers a new twist. It’s built to generate forward motion without pushing off the ground. This “land paddling” technique uses a paddle or body motion to keep the board moving. It’s a great workout and fun way to cruise.
Hamboard also offers accessories and paddles designed to enhance the ride. Their land paddles are strong, flexible, and help maintain balance while cruising. Many riders enjoy the added control and fitness benefits they provide. Helmets, shirts, and stickers are also part of the brand's growing lineup.
The brand gained national fame after appearing on the TV show Shark Tank. The exposure helped Hamboard expand their reach and grow their community. Since then, they’ve gained a loyal following of riders across the globe. Surfers, skaters, and outdoor lovers all enjoy what Hamboards brings to their daily adventures.
Hamboard are more than just boards—they’re about lifestyle. They invite riders to feel free, flow naturally, and connect with the spirit of the ocean. Whether you're on a coastal boardwalk or an inland street, Hamboards bring the beach vibe wherever you go. The company stands for craftsmanship, fun, and a love for movement.
Their popularity continues to rise, thanks to social media and word of mouth. Videos of riders carving wide turns and cruising smooth roads have inspired many to try the boards. The ride is visually impressive and physically engaging. It's easy to see why so many fall in love with the Hamboard experience.
At your surf shop, Hamboards are a perfect match for customers who love surf culture. Whether it’s a flat day at the beach or someone looking for a new way to ride, Hamboards deliver. They offer a fresh and exciting alternative to traditional skateboards or longboards.
Explore the Hamboard collection and bring the surf to the streets. Whether you're a seasoned surfer or a total beginner, there’s a Hamboard for you. Give your customers the chance to carve, cruise, and feel the freedom of surfing—anywhere, anytime.
