At this point, the goal isn't simply to stand up and make it to the beach. You're learning to make better decisions on the wave and use your body and board deliberately.
Work through the five lessons in order. Each one builds on the previous lesson, so don't rush ahead just because a particular manoeuvre sounds more exciting.

UK waves change quickly. Developing adaptable technique is more useful than trying to copy a surfing style designed for one perfect type of wave.
