The Cortez Prism Paradox is a great version of the magic carpet style of board, easy paddling, easy surfing and fun. This board is loaded with flow and glide and will make the absolute most of everyday conditions whether its small weak wind effected surf or a bit cleaner and more lined up. The template of the board gives a big sweet spot so its forgiving if you're a lower level surfer but the rails are pulled down enough, and the rocker is aggressive enough to allow the board to turn sweetly too.You can surf this board in 90% of the day to day conditions we get in the UK and you will exit the water smiling.

The all-new Cortez Prism range. If you think you know Cortez as a brand you're going to have to re-set! Cortez Prism is a new high-end, comprehensive range of boards constructed from the very latest EPS/Epoxy/Carbon and finished to an immaculate standard.
Cortez Prism surfboards are built around a high quality stringerless EPS Foam Core with 2 x 6oz layers of fibreglass on the deck and bottom and laminated with epoxy resin.

Carbon strips which replace the traditional wooden stringer are laminated to the top and bottom creating a fast responding flex pattern which will last for the boards lifetime. What you're getting is a lightweight and durable surfboard with an extremely lively feel. EPS/Epoxy surfboards are a little more resilient when it comes to deck compression and generally last longer than a regular PU surfboard, but the biggest benefit is the way they feel in the water and how they maintain that 'new board feel' for life!

Time To Ditch The Foamie?

When transitioning from a foam surfboard to a hard surfboard, your overall surfing progression can improve significantly. A foam board is excellent for beginners because it provides extra buoyancy and stability, making paddling easier. However, as you advance, a hard surfboard offers several advantages that can help you grow as a surfer.

First, a hard surfboard is more responsive. The rigid structure allows for sharper turns and more control, which is crucial for progressing in maneuvers. With increased responsiveness, you can better read the wave and make quick adjustments to your position.

Second, a hard board helps develop your balance and technique. The foam board is forgiving, but the stability it offers can mask weaknesses in your form. A hard board forces you to engage more actively with the wave and refine your stance, making you more aware of your body positioning.

Additionally, hard boards allow you to ride a wider range of waves. While foam boards are great for small, soft waves, hard boards can handle more powerful conditions. As your skills improve, riding different waves will challenge you and help you progress faster.

Another important factor is the increased speed. Hard surfboards have less drag than foam boards, allowing you to generate more speed on waves. This speed is vital for performing maneuvers like cutbacks, bottom turns, and aerials, which are essential for advanced surfers.

Overall, moving to a hard surfboard is an essential step in your surfing journey. It will help you improve your skills, increase your performance, and allow you to progress faster in the sport.
