Happy Twin

A modern take on the classic winged-swallow twin fin, built for down-the-line speed, lightning-fast turns, easy paddling and maximum fun across a wide range of conditions.

Funformance 1–6ft Twin · Thruster Power & Control

The Happy Twin

More board. More paddle power. Still a Happy Twin.

The Happy Twin blends a full yet racy outline with a forward wide point and a single wing behind the front fins. That wing creates a pivot point for snappy turns and bite, while the flatter rocker helps the board generate easy speed and glide in slower surf.

Underneath, a signature double concave sits within a single concave and blends into a pronounced Vee off the tail for smooth rail-to-rail transitions. The beak nose and inset double concave in the deck add to its distinctive feel.

Wave Range 1–6ft

Designed for smaller surf, with a fast and free feel that also works in more favourable conditions.

Outline Full · Racy · Wide Point Forward

A full but racy outline carries its wide point forward, with a single wing behind the front fins and a classic winged-swallow tail.

Bottom Single → Double → Vee

A signature double concave sits within a single, blending into pronounced Vee off the tail for smooth rail-to-rail transitions.

Fin Setup Twin · Thruster

The Happy Twin can be configured for different approaches, from a controlled thruster setup to a faster five-fin option.

The Happy Twin is what happens when you give a high-performance board a little more breathing room — without taking away the reason you wanted a Happy Twin in the first place.

What makes it work

Extra foam. Serious performance.

The Happy Twin’s design is about blending glide and easy speed with quick, responsive turns. Its flatter rocker helps it accelerate in slower surf, while the wing behind the front fins gives the tail a pivot point for snappy turns.

01 · Paddle

More foam where you need it

The thickness is pushed forward through the board, helping the Happy Twin get moving earlier and making it easier to catch waves without turning the board into a bulky, slow-feeling shape.

02 · Speed

Medium-low entry rocker

The front half of the rocker is kept relatively moderate to help generate speed quickly, while the rear rocker provides the curve needed for tighter turns and control.

03 · Control

Refined rails and round pin

The tail and rails are deliberately kept thinner so the board can hold its line through fast, powerful sections and stay responsive when pushed hard.

The shape

The Happy Twin DNA, with more room to perform.

The Happy Twin retains the refined outline of the Happy Twin family, with the wide point pushed slightly forward of centre and a controlled nose area leading into a pulled-in round pin tail.

A flatter rocker promotes speed and glide. The bottom contours move from single to double concave and then pronounced Vee off the tail, helping the board transition smoothly from rail to rail.

Bob's Take

The Happy Twin might be the sweet spot for surfers who want performance without making wave catching unnecessarily hard.

The original Happy Twin has earned its reputation as a serious performance board, particularly when the waves have some power and curve. The Happy Twin takes that concept and makes it more accessible by adding useful volume without simply turning it into a completely different type of board.

Its flatter rocker helps it generate speed and glide in slower surf, while the single-to-double concave and pronounced tail Vee support smooth rail-to-rail transitions. It’s designed for smaller surf, but remains a fun option when conditions improve.

The Happy Twin's combination of forward volume, refined rails, round pin and strong tail rocker gives it that balance. It should help you get into waves without compromising what happens once you're actually riding them.

Pyzel recommends ordering the Happy Twin anywhere from your height up to around 8 inches over, with additional width and thickness compared with your everyday shortboard depending on the conditions and performance you're looking for.
