Carver's story begins in Venice Beach, California, in 1996. Surfers Neil Carver and Greg Falk were staring at a flat Pacific and looking for a way to keep that feeling of surfing alive when there were no waves to ride.

They took their skateboards into the hills around Venice and Santa Monica, but something was missing. Skateboards could turn, but they couldn't carve, pump and flow in the same way a surfboard could.

So instead of accepting the limitations of the equipment, they started building something that didn't exist. Working from a garage behind Neil's house, they began developing new truck designs specifically around the movements of surfing.

After countless prototypes and plenty of broken hardware, they eventually cracked it. The result was the C7 — a dual-axis truck that created a genuinely surf-like turning motion and became the foundation of the modern surfskate.
