Ocean & Earth MR 5'9 Epoxy Soft Super Twin Fin Surfboard Blue

  • Sale
  • Regular price £449.95

Mark Richards and the iconic MR logo join the softboard party, with a little help from Ocean & Earth. This is the stiffer and more performance-oriented version aka Epoxy/Soft construction, as distinguished from the Ezi-Rider construction (more of a standard softboard).

The MR Epoxy Soft looks like a softboard, rides like a real board!

Features:

  • Construction: Epoxy/Soft – EPS double-stringer core, PU textured deck skin, 1mm HDPE bottom plate
  • Outline: The classic MR twin fin – more pointy than a traditional keel fish, with signature bump in the outline
  • Tail: Winged swallow
  • Rocker: Moderate-low
  • Bottom Shape: Concave to vee to channel
  • Fin Set-Up: 2+1 (3 fin boxes)
  • Fin System: Futures compatible
  • Fins included: PU Twin Fin Set (Classic MR template)
  • Suitable Conditions: 1–5ft
  • Rider Ability: Beginner to advanced

We love a good collaboration, and this is a very, very good collaboration. On one side of the aisle, we have Ocean & Earth, a much-loved Australian hardware brand now making highly successful inroads into the softboard market. On the other side, the much-loved surfer-shaper Mark Richards. Four-times world-champion, pioneer of the high-performance twin fin in the early ‘80s, also known as the “Wounded Gull”, etc. etc.

Last surfer to win a world title on boards he shaped himself? Only surfer ever to win a world title on a twinny? Yep... MR.

The template is pretty much identical to his original world-title winning design, which he still considers his best: fullish nose but still a bit pointy, winged swallow tail, little channel between the fins. The Epoxy/Soft construction is a step up from your standard foamy in terms of performance, kind of half way between a softboard and a hard-shell.

It comes with FCS II fin boxes in a thruster set-up (current images show an earlier sample version) – you'll be surfing it either as a twin fin or as a 2+1, with a little stabiliser fin in the rear slot for some extra forward drive.

Available in 5’6” through to 7'0", and in red or blue. Our prediction: these are gonna fly (off the shelves, and down the line too. Either way, quick!)
